Something's Gotta Give!

I have two quilts that I want to make - one for Bella's first birthday (2 weeks today!) and one for Bella's friends first birthday (2 weeks ago!!). I also  need to work on some little drawstring bags that I've started, a couple of cushions, some mini quilts, a pair of curtains, patchwork slip covers, some key rings, a doll for Bella and some more bedding for Bella.

But, my studio looks like this...

and this...

and this..

Studio4

and this...

and as if all that wasn't bad enough this is the inside of my fabric cupboard!

And until all of this is sorted and put away there will be no more crafting - because there is NO. MORE. ROOM.
Not only that, but I need to see what I have because I keep ordering more and more fabric and it has to stop! My work will not be better if I just have that one new fabric! And I probably already own something similar to it anyway!
So, that's what I'm doing today. And probably tomorrow!

I love your studio. It looks a bit like mine did. ( a fellow fabric hoarder) I have just spent a WEEK tidying!
Looks like you have some great fabric though.

Bloody Hell! How much fabric do you own???? That is craaazzzzyyyy!!

Manda! you have got a ton of stuff!! I bet you have some treasures in there you forgot about!! I know you'll get it sorted, show us the pics. when you do. I've been there too! Those patchwork pillows are pretty, did you make those?

My sewing area is in the spare room and it gets like this after a while. I am trying to tidy up as I go along so it doesn't build up, but it's difficult if my sewing is interrupted. Have fun re-discovering your fabrics and beautiful stuff.

If you find that you just can't find room for those pillows in the third picture send them my way!

WOW!!! bet there's some lovely bits and bobs in there!!!! The ginghamy/ check fabric quilt on the bed looks delicious!

I started sorting my fabric just yesterday. I've barely made a dent in it, but I feel better already. Seeing all my fabrics neatly rolled together to where I can see most of what I own is inspiring.

Ha ha, that's home from home for me.

I loved seeing your messy workroom! I am a bit scared to post pics of mine but maybe I will now. Mine is kind of organised but there's just TOO much fabric and I have resolved not to buy any more and use up what I have too. Mind you I bought some today to make myself 2 new skirts. And I don't even have the decency to feel bad about it. I didn't have the right skirt fabric in my stash so it doesn't count. It's a terrible affliction isn't it?

Okay I have stood up and proclaimed that I too am VERY MESSY and have TOO MUCH FABRIC. I took photos of my own mess and blogged about it here: http://www.jenleheny.com/archives/100 and linked your messy pics too.

Thanks for sharing. :)

I say, all crafters with messy work rooms, UNITE! Who cares if it's a mess? We should be thankful that we even have a craft area to make messes in...ok I guess you can tell that I too suffer from some serious messy work area too huh? I'll get to cleaning it again one day. Right after I get that shipment of vintage inspired fabrics I ordered and finish looking through these 5 craft magazines I picked up this afternoon.

I just must say that you have made my day. I no longer feel like the only person without a gorgeously organized craft and fabric stash. By the way your stuff that I have seen so far is beautiful!!!!
