Megan's Quilt

I've been working on this quilt for the last two days. It's for Bella's bestfriend Megan and I'm finding it a lot harder and a lot less fun than I had hoped it would be. Megan's nursery is predominantly lilac which is not a colour that I would naturally work with.  Megan's mum, Kate, doesn't now I'm doing it, and she'd appreciate a quilt regardless of what it looks like (she' a sweetie like that!) but I want it to match Megan's room, and that's causing me to struggle.

I think it's turning out great, but I know what you mean about working with colors that you wouldn't normally choose. I'm doing a project like that at the moment and I'm not really motivated to finish it.

Such tiny peices no wonder you are not having much fun. There's too much work! It looks beautiful though.

I really like how you put the dark blues with the lilac, and that pansy fabric is just beautiful.

I've worked on things that I just didn't really "feel" and know exactly what you're saying. Its work getting through it, but I was always happy in the end that I stuck with it. It looks beautiful and your work is so impeccable.

it looks great! the bright blues is a good way to go. I had the *exact* same problem making a quilt to match the lavender nursery of my cousin's baby. I found one fabric I really liked and went with it...

The quilt looks great and it will be worth the struggle!

Rosa Pomar's doll was made of pansy-fabric too today:

We just can't wait for spring to arrive!

Wow, the colors are gorgeous. I am a big fan of the color lilac, lavender, and purple family, and I can't wait to see your finished quilt.

i just made a pillow in lavendar and it was a challenge for me. i understand completely.

I think it's beautiful! It's much more exciting than just lilac or similar colours, but I think it will still go really well in the room. When I'm fed up with a project I switch to another one for little breaks - this does look like a lot of work!

It looks lovely, your fabric choices are so nice together. But, I do know what mean about working with colors that aren't "you". Not the funnest thing in the world.

Good luck with the quilt. I think the combinations you have put together are quite lovely!
