Help....

It would appear that I've finally run out of steam. I just can't seem to work up the energy to do any more work or even fun sewing. In fact I've been stitching M-P2's quilt binding for three days now. Three days! It usually takes me a couple of hours for a quilt the size of hers and it's usually a job I love to do. But I just can't muster up the enthusiam for it.
My work days seem to consist of sitting at the sewing machine for a couple of hours without actually doing anything and then going back to bed for a lie down.
Not overly productive then. Although Jim says that gestating is being productive and who am I to argue.
Oh and I'm so huge that Bella called me 'her big fat Mummy' yesterday.
Thanks for that Bella!
hey, you're allowed, you're going to pop soonish!. i love that little cushion on the chair, is that one of yours?. i'm soooo jealous of the gorgeous quilt and booties you got from lyn, and kristy's one too in that scrummy farm print fabric!

Well I am with hubby - there is not much more productive thing to do int he world than to create another little human being.
It is no surprise that it takes a lot of energy - and besides, you need to rest up, you will be busy before too long, and not get enough sleep.
Blessings

Umm yeh I think Jims right...again.That's twice I've agreed with him now!
When that little babe comes nothing else is oing to matter.Seriously just go and rest.I think Jim should confiscate the sewing machine for a while!

A little bit of mommy humor to keep you going...
A mom was explaining to her little girl that her tummy was getting big because a baby was growing in it. The little girl looked at her and asked, "Then what's growing in your bum?"
Rest well :)

Hey. Pregnancy gives you the right to take some time off. Stop trying to do stuff and relax. You'll have far too much to do soon enough. Sleep!

You are shoring up energy for when you will be getting up every two/three hours for the feedings. TAKE THE REST!!!! Hang in there...

You're being very productive right now, creating little M-P2, take a well earned rest while you can...in no time at all you'll have your hands full with 2 children!

Your daughter's comment is really very good - a step closer to seeing your 2nd-born. Yeah.

Yes. Gestating is doing something. There used to be a program here called Northern Exposure (my favorite) and I'll never forget the episode where one of the characters (very young and open minded free spirit) was marveling over being pregnant and she said something to the effect of "Hey, I'm busy growing a liver inside me!". I loved it because when you think of it that way, it's so fun...you are growing little pink toes and a tiny little heart in your right now! Sounds like work to me! :)

*said in the most caring way*
Now Madam ~ time to take the little bit of time that's left before little babe comes along, to get in some much needed rest!
You have accomplished so much, it's definitely time to get some time out for Manda. Happy Resting :)

Laura, I own the entire Northern Exposure series on DVD. I should send it to Manda. She needs to watch something while she is cooking that little bean!
Big Fat Mummy is pretty funny, especially when I imagine Bella's little accent saying it! Lol... ;)

Listen to your body and rest! Of course, I justify eating chocolate by using that rational. Take care and know we are rooting for you. Cheers

Jim - I think you win this one!
He's right Manda - gestating is doing something HUGE - plus you are so close now I get all excited when you post after a couple of days away, so......
relax. Bugger the quilting. It'll get done later. And you're gonna be DYING for that sleep in a couple of weeks, so get it all in while you can!

Just listen to your body - it's telling you to relax! The other day I had my 4yr old daughter home as she was sick. I took her to the doc and when we got back there was no power (the joys of living in South Africa at the moment)so I couldn't get in my house (electric gate/ security - the joys...etc.) Anyway, I had half an hour to go to fetch my son from school and it was too hot to sit in the car, so I just drove around the neighbourhood looking at the houses. After a bit, madam asked what I was doing, so I explained. She looked at me in a way only a smart aleck 4 year old can, and said "God made you funny...." So your daughter thinks you're fat and mine thinks I'm nuts!

Trust kids to tell it like it is... ;o) I can remember the last few days/weeks before my DD2 was born and all I could muster the energy to do was freecell on the computer!! Hang in there you haven't got long to go.

Well if it's any consolation, Ned told me this morning that he and Oscar had created a virtual me on Sims and I'm not fat on that! Great considering I'm only 22 weeks - I thought I was looking very trim!!! Sympathise with the lethargy and have given myself a good talking to about postitive attitude - trouble is I'm tired and in chaos - not a happy and creative place to be so feel sorry for me too!
All my love,

Husband Will dubbed me the "Big Fat Mumma" as a joke when I was pregnant with our third. He didn't count on the fact that our first two boys would pick up on it and start using it too. Now, 3 years later, I'm occasionally reffered to by the same name which is not great. Can we see a close up of that divine looking round cushion in your photo. It looks lovely.

QUICK! I need your address to send goodies to...before you POP!.

Manda, you have obviously completely forgotten the sleep deprivation and brain damage that newborns bring. For the love of all things Holy - sleep NOW while you can! I know you can't stock up on sleep but just enjoy the last few days/weeks before hell breaks loose.
Chirpy arent I.

It's okay to rest! I'm at 39 weeks right now myself and nothing makes me happier than a nap. Of course, I don't have another little one running around! Rest as much as you can!

I hope you are sleeping not quilting?!
Posted by:Kristy | February 17, 2008 at 04:34 PM
Hey, give yourself a break! being pregnant and trying to sit at a sewing machine is hard!! all the pressure from the baby in that position would not be very cozy!! I'm sure all of us here in blog ville would have to agree that you have been pretty darn productive. I think you are deserved a little rest girl.
Take care of yourself and rest up :)

Hi Manda
I think you most probably got the message by now eh, the overiding word here is most definitely "rest"....hope you're managing it as it seems to be a hard thing for you to do?!
The glimpses of M-P2's corner look absolutely perfect, you've accomplished so much already. Take care (pleeeease)
