Nursery Sneaky Peak
I had what I'm hoping was my last scan today and all is well. Large, but well. Oh and engaged.
After the hospital we dropped Bella off with some very generous and very much appreciated friends and I came home and did my best to get M-P2's room finished. After all, she's going to be here soon. Isn't she?
I can't remember if I've explained that the poor bebe doesn't actually have a room of her own. Instead she's commandeered the far end of our bedroom. The room is naturally split by the stairs that come up in to it (it's an attic room), so it hasn't been hard to create a definite separation. But it's still not perfect. And we need to come up with a better solution long term.
But in the meantime I've really tried to make it work as well as I can. There's still a little more to do, but I'm pretty darn pleased with what I've managed so far.
It still needs some extra storage (I'm thinking about this ) and I really want to hang full length muslin curtains to further separate it from the rest of the room and of course there's the labels for the drawers.
But art work is up (love it), cushions are made, quilt is finished and toys are sorted.
A few more finishing touches (oilcloth for the tops of the drawer units etc) and a shelf put up and of course a baby and we'll be there.
Manda, the sneak peak was fun. You did such a great job,it's feminine yet modern. Not cutesy which is a good thing. So glad to hear that all is well with the baby :) We all can't wait to see how beautiful she is.
I just started a blog, after being inspired by yours and a few other very talented people. I only have a couple of posts up,as I have just started it yesterday, but I'm inviting people to take a peek.
Look forward to seeing more of the baby posts that are soon to come. Take care and put your feet up,you been working too hard!!

It's beautiful. I remember with my first, I was working full time until I delivered (he came early!) and not only was I not prepared, but the nursery wasn't either.

It's looking gorgeous Manda.I love the curtains over the drawer units.I'm thinking of getting that IKEA unit in red for the playroom.I'm fed up of having to move all my vintage suitcases to get to the bottom one!
I can't beleive Hazel suggested you might have another room for MP-2!! How dare she!!!Love the floor mat/quilt.What have you backed it with?
Can we come and see it soon?! I've never been in your attic. In fact I don't think we get past the studio do we?! xxx

I think the nursery is just perfect, Manda. I think its good that you don't have to go down the stairs when she wakes at night. Of course, she'll sleep through the night right away; what was I thinking?

If it's of any consolation, for reasons far too long and boring, my youngest shared my bedroom untill she was 15!!! Bet no-one can beat that!!
Wishing you well x

Hope you are all well. Thought I'd just drop you a quick line to say it's way past my bedtime and I can't go to bed yet because I have just discovered Superbuzzy and can't tear myself away. What an amazing shop! I know you have mentioned it in previous posts but for some reason I never really looked at it. I have recently been inspired by an amazing 1930's quilt I saw in a book called "Quilt - Handmade Style" and a lot of the fabric used in the quilt is available at Superbuzzy! Hoorah.

Hi, Manda:
You're due the same day as we are due (with our first). The waiting is so hard...but let's hope you make it to the weekend (to full-term, 37 weeks, right?)
I love what you've done for the nursery area of your house. Your things are soooo beautiful -- always.
Praying you have a great and easy delivery, Manda! Come on, little one!

The nursery is so sweet!
Long term, what about the girls sharing a room? My boys are 18 months apart and I always worried about them having to share a room. Now that they are 12 and 13 they finally have their own rooms and they end up sleeping on the floor of eachother's rooms. My daughter even complains that she doesn't have anyone to share her room with.
