New Clothes..
Have you seen Boot's new children's clothing line, Molly and Jack?
I popped in the other day in the hopes of buying a few basics for both the girls and left 20 minutes later with a hefty sized bag and an even heftier bill.
The new clothes are all based on vintage designs, using vintage inspired prints and colourways and are absolutely gorgeous.
Lily has lived in this cardigan since the day I bought it. It goes with everything and is the perfect summer weight. And it's so nice to be able to buy something for a baby that is practical and stylish, without making her look like a dress up doll or a mini me.
The range isn't as cheap as their other clothes, but I really think it's worth it to be able to dress both Bella and Lily in something other than clothes from Next or Mothercare. And I just love the fact that they don't look straight off the peg , but handmade.
I got this cream top for Bella and am just waiting for the best, chocolate, icecream, spaghetti free moment for her to wear it!
And she's just waiting for it to grow by 6 inches and become a dress, before she'll wear it!
The only problem with this collection is that it isn't handmade and these days I'm feeling the pressure to at least try and make as many of the girls clothes as possible. I'm not succeeding, but I'm at least feeling the pressure.

adorable!!

Feeling under pressure to make stuff surely takes the enjoyment out of doing it? I think it's best (and kinder to yourself) to wait till the urge strikes. In the meantime your kids have lovely clothes from Boots and know you love them anyway. Polly x x x

yes I know, this guilty feeling when you buy something and I think: I should have made that!

I just love that flowered/gingham dress. Instead of feeling the pressure to make them clothes. Do what I do. Wait till they've outgrown them and make patchwork/ragdolls out of them (far easier and a cherishable keepsake into the bargain!!)

I love their Molly and Jack range- they fact that they're predominately NOT pink is what floats my boat!

How adorable, I just love children's clothing. I use to make a ton of things for my daughters when they were little. We use to have some very talented children's clothing designers here in the San Francisco Bay area. They had their outlets in Berkeley and would sell their left over custom fabrics. I would go and buy them out and make tons of stuff. They all have gone out of business since the early 90's, and now I have seen nothing great out there. I still feel like I should start a line or something. Or maybe I'll just wait for the grandchildren. We finished Caitlin's senior project,"Grace Kelley" dress if you want to take a look. By the way I love those little pin cushions in your last post!!!!

They are all cute but I love the blue floral top the best! I seem to always be drawn to blue....

That blue floral is my favorite too. I am trying to figure out if I can order something and have it shipped to the US...

Boots? Honestly? Those are cute.
I'm sure my old local Boots used to sell about 5 baby t-shirts and that was it...

Oh what wonderful clothes. I wish they had those when mine were little. I really find it hard to buy clothes that dont cost more than mine do for kids. I think I need to start making some more for Isabelle so I can make them longer in the torso as she is quite tall and it is hard to buy them without showing off a bellybutton!

Forget the pressure. You're not wonderwoman.
And if you can buy it, then the pressure's not there, is it?
You will get the time/energy/inspiration to make clothes when the time is right. And until then just go and enjoy those lovely girls! (Is she still nicknamed MP2?)

Don't feel the pressure. I've been sewing for a long time and I always buy stuff for my daughter. I love their range too and have bought many bits and pieces over the last couple of years. Especially when it's on sale!

Wow, I'm really impressed - I've bought a few things from their range but not for a good while since my daughter was a baby. I've ended up shopping from Gap in the last 18 months but will definitely make a trip to Boots next time I'm shopping for clothes for the little one.
