I've been a little more absent from around here just lately, and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been keeping up with my emails and thank you's for your comments and support. But I do have an excuse. And I think it's a pretty good one.
You see, I have a new job. And it's an exciting one. But I've had to keep it a secret. Until now.
Because today is the official announcement about an incredibly exciting new magazine that's going to be published in October.
The magazine is called Sew Hip and is full of great new patterns and tutorials, as well as interviews with some fantastic new and established designer/makers. It has product reviews, book reviews, fabric reviews and sewing 101's. And it's aimed at you.
It's written with you in mind because we know that there's just nothing else in the UK that is aimed at you. At us. All of us that love great fabrics, original designs and inspirational ideas that make us want to try something new, something we thought we could never do.
And me? Well I'm hugely (if not overly) excited to tell you that I'm the new editor of the magazine! And that I'm extremely proud and excited to be a part of this. And that I want you to be a part of it too. Whether it's just reading the magazine or actually being involved in contributing to it. Because if you have ideas or patterns that you want to share then please go to our website and follow the contribute link, because I really want to hear from you, (whether you're in the UK, USA or anywhere else!).
The first issue of Sew Hip will be available at the end of October, but is available to pre-order right now via the website. You can also subscribe to the magazine through the website or over the phone - and if the magazine itself isn't reason enough to do so (and it will be) then you also get a free goody bag with every subscription. Of course once it's out you'll also be able to buy it in Borders, WHSmiths, Tesco's and lots of other good places.
So go on pop on over to www.sewhip.co.uk and have a look. Because I'm so excited about this and I can't wait to share it with you.
But don't worry, TreeFall isn't disappearing. I'll still be here too (because I seem to believe that I possess copious amounts of time and energy!) as well as posting occasionally over on the Sew Hip blog (go over and say hi, everyone at Sew Hip would love to hear from you!).
This is a fantastically exciting time for me and I'm so grateful to be able to be a part of it. But I wouldn't have this opportunity if it wasn't for this blog and everyone that's read and commented and egged me on. Seriously, thank you for helping me get this far, and hopefully, thank you for coming with me the next step of the way.
