Toast

Holiday reading... which if you ask me, is one of the best things about being on holiday!
Is it sad though that I brought the new Toast catalog on holiday with me? When it's as beautiful as it is? And when it meant that I could sit in peace this morning and plan (dream) about my new look for Autumn?

Teal and mustard are a must have combination as far as I'm concerned. I would so love to be able to afford this jumper, I love those sleeves and the neck. I'm hoping H&M will have a cheaper version.

Talking of H&M, I saw a dress pretty similar to this just the other day and am definitely going to have to go back to get it.

I'm not sure how much I can get on with the whole leg warmers worn on your arms thing, but the actual dress is gorgeous.

Must. Have. These. Pyjama's! As well as a room like that to wear them in!

And I love this coat. And love the combination of these colours and textures. The light when I was taking the photo's was amazing.

Doesn't it all feel very autumnal?  I always think that I'm going to be so sad when summer ends, but then the light changes and I find myself suddenly excited about the shorter days and the new depths of colour it brings.

And now..

Every year since it started in 2003, Jim and I have driven down to Birmingham for the Festival of Quilts. It's the one thing we do together without fail and it's become a bit of a ritual for us. Each year we approach it in the same way, agreeing completely about our favourite quilts and favourite exhibitors.
This year we almost didn't go. But I'm so glad that Jim talked me into it because it was the best year yet and exactly what I needed to get me back on my feet, both physically and mentally.

One of the many nice things about the festival yesterday was that it kicked off the start of a weeks family holiday. And it's our first one ever.
Not that we've gone very far. We're just twenty minutes down the road, staying at a very good and very generous friends house. But that's good enough for us and we're all very excited.
We intend to enjoy the local sites as well as take the girls to the beach and to the zoo and I intend to watch films, read a book and write this blog!
Which is my round about way of saying...Hello, I'm back!

I often get asked how blogging has changed my life...Well, I speak to my mum at least once a day, and more often enough it's 3 or 4 times a day. And yet yesterday she complained to me that she has no idea what's going on in my life because I haven't blogged for over a week! Seriously!!
Unfortunately  the reason is that I've had flu for over a week now and haven't been out of bed (other than a brief moment of respite on Tuesday afternoon) since last Friday. So no work being done and no fun being had in this part of the woods! Bella has however, reliably informed me that I will be better tomorrow! Something we would all be grateful for!

The photo is of my new Vintage range that I debuted at The Home and Gift show last month. It's made entirely from vintage fabrics and includes a new range of pillows and rattles.
