Lily was very excited when she saw the dress that I made for Bella the other day and was quite sure that I wanted to also make one for her.
I used my normal blouse pattern and just added a couple of extra inches to the length. As often happens, I decided on the fabric combination whilst I was working on something else. I've spoken briefly about this before, but I get the majority of my ideas when I'm working on a project and I catch glimpses of combinations of fabrics as the offcuts and scraps start to pile up on my cutting table. It's how I came up with my Selvedge pincushions amongst other ideas.
This dress is appliqued but, as of today I have access to a screen printing workshop whenever I need it (I've finished my screen printing course and induction) and will be making up some printed versions too.
I'm extremely excited about screen printing a range of dresses and blouses and am positively bursting with idea's. I have my first workshop session booked for Friday (a bit nerve wracking), so I'm hoping to start having some bits and pieces in my Etsy shop in the next few weeks.
But in the mean time I'm pleased to say that Lily's response when she saw this dress was "oh wow!".
Followed swiftly with an emphatic "No!" when I asked her to try it on!
