I made this little cushion up a couple of days ago from my own printed fabric. I used a natural canvas that's pretty strong whilst still having a nice drape. Next to linen it's one of my favourite fabrics to work with and I'm finding that it prints really well, with lovely clear colours.
It's still strange sewing something up with fabric I've printed, and I can obviously only see the mistakes and problems. But that feeling never really goes away for me. I still look at everything I make and see faults before anything else, and I don't think that's a bad thing.
This print has a couple of faults, including the white spot in the middle of the deer (caused by a fleck on the screen when I printed it) and some bleeding of ink around a couple of leaves. But I made it up because I wanted to see the fabric in use before I printed any more of it.
I'm happy with how it turned out, but I wouldn't sell this actual one because of the faults, no matter how small they are. So I thought I might offer it as a giveaway. I don't know if anyone is interested in having it, but I thought I'd offer it anyway. So if you would like the cushion, just leave a comment and on Friday 6th I'll use the Random Number Generator to pick who gets it.
Thanks everyone!! Comments are now closed and the winner will be announced later today!
