A new jersey top and chambray/linen skinny trousers - still in the prototype stages.
The top has bat wing sleeves, that tighten at the cuff and has a large rolled collar, that hangs more cowel like when worn. And the trousers are skinny fit, made from a really soft chambray that has a little stretch to it for comfort, and a deep linen cuff.
I'm rubbish at drawing (much to my annoyance) so I tend to work by going directly to the pattern paper, (I use a big roll of Ikea paper) and draw the patterns out freehand to start with, before working out the exact measurements. Then I just start cutting and sewing, using fabrics that I like rather than muslin, and expand on my ideas that way.
This outfit is in a size 3-4, but sadly my 3-4 year old seems to feel she should have the right to exercise free will and refuses to wear it for any longer than a split second so I can check the sizing.
I have a plan though. And it involves pink. And floral. And a little more pink.
And possibly some begging.
