I've just finished exhibiting at the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate. The build up to it has meant focusing on new designs and finally, finally creating a much more cohesive collection.
Quite unusually for me, I've been using mainly solid cottons and a lot more colour. But I've been really excited by such a bright colour palette and have found that it's really sparked my creativity. It also feels like a much more grown up collection to me (even though it's all for kids!).
The show is a really good one to do as a designer/maker as unlike the other trade shows the buyers understand that everything is handmade and that the lead times, availablity and price points all reflect that fact.
It's also absolutely lovely to spend 3 days in the company of so many wonderful, talented and friendly designers, especially after spending so much time working alone.
Next up I have The Makers Fair at the The Saltaire Arts Trail.
It's one of my favourite makers fairs to do and if you're anywhere near the area I highly recommend it!
