Precisely ten minutes before Bella left for a party/sleepover today we realised that every last pair of her pyjama's was either torn, too small or washed so many times that they are now that particular shade of grey. Sooooo.....
I traced around her largest pj's and used some of my favourite voile to make her a new pair of pj pants.
Although I'm pretty sure I could have had them cut and sewn in the 10 minutes before she left, Bella's 9, and with that age comes an awful lot of emotion, so we packed a pair of old pj's (that I did manage to repair in those 10 minutes) instead and sent her on her way.
I then finished the new pair and drove over to where she was sleeping over (20 minutes away), only to discover that part of the girl's party bags were a new pair of pyjama's each! And apparently I can't compete with that!
Her saving grace (and mine) was that as I left (with the pj's I made in my bag) she shouted that they were lovely and she'd wear them tomorrow.
There was also a professional make up artist at the party, so I was always going to lose!
