Gosh, I don't really know what to say, except thank you all so much for your offers of Showers and help and wish lists etc. It is so kind of any of you to want to help, but I really don't think I can let you. I am already so very lucky to have all your support and friendship, and anything on top of that would just be asking too much. I am incredibly grateful for your offers though. Truly.
I'm very relieved to say that we're much more sorted now, having spent the weekend washing and drying all of Bella's old clothes and putting up the crib as well as cleaning and straightening in general. We still have some of the bigger things to buy (like new cot mattresses etc) but the small stuff is a lot more sorted and so are we. Now it's just a case of keeping the momentum rolling until she makes an appearance.
This dress was one that I made for Holly/Bella's Christmas present. I used a pattern in the same book as before, but instead of using denim as suggested, I used this beautiful Liberty baby cord.
The dress came together really easily and is definitely going to be scaled up to fit Bella.
The other dress I managed to finish in time is this summer one. I really didn't know that making dolls clothes would become so addictive! In fact, I'm pretty damn sure that if you had asked me a year or so ago, I would have suggested that making clothes for dolls was possibly a little sad. Oh how things change.
For this dress I used two separate Boden prints. I wanted it to be as pink as possible and pictured it with this coat ( I know it's a summer dress and a winter coat but they really do look good together).
I really am surprised by how much I've learnt whilst making Holly's clothes, not to mention how much fun it is to make them. And I love the fact that Bella's doll gets to wear Liberty and Boden!
